Battle As If It Is Your Last

August 16, 2013

Flashing, Crashing, Pouring Down Storm ~ photo by Patrice

Battle as if it is your last
Incoming, incoming
Take no prisoners
Make sure you are the last
Standing
Never show that you are alone
Never show you care.

Battle hard
Use every weapon that you see
Leave nothing to chance
Or destiny.

Battle
Battle as if it is your last gasp
Never ever expect help to arrive
For you are the only one
Alive in your world
You must
You must survive.

Then you hear
A haunting call calming wind
And your breath is taken in
As you know
Someone great Is at the door
Someone you’ve never seen before.

Someone kind has come
To have your back
You can lay down
The weapons used to destruct
You can kneel and be kind
Knowing that you’re no longer
Or ever been
Alone.

Love is here embracing you
Treating life gently
With love coming from all around
Surrounding
Making you grow
Becoming the one you wanted
Always to know.

Battle not
Accept the love
You are not lost but found
Look all around.

Up in the bustling sky
A thousand clouds go flying by
Not one
Not one ever asks why.

Treacherous, Dangerous

August 14, 2013

Treacherous, dangerous
Tread lightly and see
Your heart be safe
Arriving in the midst
Of a loving embrace
Tranquil
Secure all to be.

Merry May The Day Be

August 13, 2013

Travel thru time ~ photo by Patrice

Merry may the day be
Intertwined with dignity
Cherish every moment
Passing by joyously
With the ticking tock
Of a wall clock
Sorry, sad doesn’t fit inside
This time I merrily pass
Here in the moments
I will relish in a ever
Ever lasting merry day.

Peel Back The Layers

August 12, 2013

Road and Rail Fence ~ photo by Patrice

Peel back the layers
Feel the bad ooze out
Permeating the glad
Spreading like a plague
Full of anguish
Making good things bad.

Sadness too comes along
Melancholy through
And through
Raising no gladness
To the sky
Only morose sadness
Lonely, standing by.

You are right
You are good
To let the layers lie
Just as they should
In their own
Forsaken lullaby.

Nothing gained
Nothing lost
To let badness scuttle off
Please leave those layers
Let them stay
Don’t peel them
Off.

Content Is What I Feel

August 8, 2013

Content is what I feel
I’ll savour, taste, immerse myself in this
Then if it dissipates and the world
Around me is hellish
I can recall these feelings of contentment
Carrying me over any rough road
On this my path to glory.

Drip, Drop Of Rain

August 7, 2013

Banana Palm ~ photo by Patrice

Drip, drop of rain
Falling down
Rushing thru the drain
Life is sometimes like
Falling rain
A mediocre time turned
To all desired, wanted
Coming down like rain.

Once again
Listen
To the drip, drop
Of quiet summer rain.

Feel it’s vibrance change
The ordinary
To a spectacular refrain
This I know
As I listen to that rain
You’ll never ever
Ever be the same.

Merrily Go Along

August 1, 2013

Merrily go along singing the song
Singing along of nothing is right
Nor is it wrong
It’s just a sing along song
Of merrily going along.

One Back To Another

July 31, 2013

Rottie Pup and Kitten ~ illustration by PatriceOne back to another
Mirroring
Echoing the other.

Amazing thing is
This that allows us to be
One to another is
No sacrifice or be nice
Just being no one
But yourself and
Living, existing to see
One back backing up
Another.

A Hummingbird Sings

July 30, 2013

A hummingbird hovers making sure its safe
To drink nectar that brings forth
A feeling of heaven’s gate.

A hummingbird’s wings sing as she flies
In between blooms sending scent promising
Just about everything.

A hummingbird’s nest of twigs and things
Babies so small
They are next to nearly nothing.

A hummingbird dodges leaves and flowers
On the hunt of insects nutritious there
Amongst other things.

But you know I don’t think
That I’ve ever heard
A hummingbird sing
Anything.
