My Heart Aches

My heart aches
For the girl I use to be
Finding it hard accepting
This woman I am to be.
I was innocent then
Accepting and carefree.
What happened
To that girl?
Where could she be?
Life took a toll
Leaving her as you see.
Must accept this woman
Must be pleased
And certainly see
a beautiful person too
Just not as carefree.
Happy yes, more so now
Than ever could be.
So love this woman
Because she is me.
