Figure It Out

September 17, 2013

German Rottie ~ painting by PatriceFigure it out one step at a time
Walk with pride
Sidestep
Even if you have to duck and hide
No matter the reason the answer is there
Its up to you to find out where.

Friday The 13th In Port Dover

September 13, 2013

Friday the 13th in Port Dover ~ photo courtesy of www.pd13.comFriday the 13th
Is fun, nothing bad
Just a happening in Dover
Where thousands meet
To stare at Harleys
In the street.

No one notices palm trees
Embedded in the sand
Only the massive rumble roar
As another bike rides in.

Let Me See The Difference

September 12, 2013

Let me see the difference
In the majesty enveloping me
Let me be the whole
I want to be
A profound difference
That’s what I want to be.

I Forgot

September 11, 2013

World Trade Centre Destruction 2001 ~ photo courtesy of Business Insider

I forgot
What day this was
I forget if a saddened sun shone
I forget what I had for lunch.

But
I didn’t forget the thousands that did die
I didn’t forget those that did get out alive
I haven’t forgot you helped those survive.

I can not forget the clouds of smoke
Rising ash, people stunned, sirens wailing
Unholy hell reigning
It seemed to last I have not forgot.

I can not forget
A silence as planes flew into concrete
Smashing trust, crushing hopes
This I won’t and have not forgot.

Crisis Crunch

September 10, 2013

Crisis crunch
Not a blessed thing I can do
Master anger here in charge
Not letting anyone disregard
All this mess spread about.

Anger, frustration
Does abound
Method used is not the one
Must change my options
Find someone who knows
Quiet, elegant all
Those wonder times.

Spend it there
Make it like a nursery rhyme
Full of happiness all the time
All the time
Make it a blessed nursery rhyme.

Stomach Churning

September 9, 2013

Right Path ~ photo by Patrice

Stomach churning
Thoughts swirling
Around.

Don’t know
What’s right
Or wrong.

Strong feelings
Moving me
Moving me along.

Get a hold
Get a grip
Focus and stay
A bit.

See right
From wrong
Know which path
To travel along.

A Home Is A Home

September 6, 2013

Wasp Nest ~ photo by Patrice

A home is a home
No matter where you reside
A home is a home
No matter the size.

A home is where we go
And we share
All that’s important
And shows we do care.

A home is a home
And where we come
To be secure surrounded
With all we love.

Be it with our child
Our brothers, our sisters
Our father, our spouse
Or mother
A home is a home.

No matter where
We roam or stay
A home is still home
When we nestle in
And love one another.

Let It Rest

September 5, 2013

Summer Easy ~ photo by Patrice

Skirt the issue
Let it rest
That would be best
For now.

Don’t know where
It’s going to lead
But for now
Let it rest.

In the future
Down the road
All will be explained
All will be told.

Let it go
That’s what’s best
So for now
Let it rest.

Sometimes Sadness Falls

September 4, 2013

Sometimes sadness falls
So far
Desperately need not
Feel that scar
Sadness
Melancholy breeding
Gaining ground.

Spreading out
Seeping deep
Within the psychic far
Oh so far around.

Trembling lips reach out
Grabbing, holding on
No hollow
Shallow victory
But a life
Maybe gone.

Tears stream down
Wanting, wailing cheeks
Splattering near
And on hardened ground
No soft tender place Golden in Trouble ~ illustration by Patrice for Dogs in Canada Magazine
To be found.

Hold yourself together
Hold yourself
Up to the light
For even if sadness falls
Make it you who decides
On which kind
A loving
Or hardened ground.
