My Heart Cries
May 7, 2024My heart cries
Beats and sighs
For
No more running
Thru fields without a care
No more laughing
Nearly falling down the stairs.
My heart cries
Tears of joy
Seeing birth come forth
Embraced in love and care
All things sweet
Loving ones share.
My heart cries
Whimpers
As
Old ones pass away.
My heart cries
For those
Who survive catastrophes
Beyond belief
Beyond anything
One should see.
My heart cries
But
No one knows
Cause I keep it hidden
Hidden
Deep inside.
Where
My heart cries.

Thank you for your kind words. Sometimes life can get hard and sometimes the best defence is to keep it to yourself.

This poem beautifully captures the depth of emotions that the heart experiences—joy, sorrow, and empathy for others. The imagery of running through fields, laughing, and the cycle of life and death evokes a profound sense of longing and reflection. The closing lines about keeping these emotions hidden inside add a poignant layer to the poem.
I thought of posting a similar poem but have been hesitant, this piece gives me to courage to do so.
