You are with me
I feel you near
you will be here
til
the angels call you to them

Can you hear? 

I touch your lips, your hand
I see your eyes
they’ve become distant
in their gaze
I’m sure
they don’t see me
standing here 

Lie in peace
lay down with love
for we’ll keep you in our hearts
we’ll keep you near
til our time too has come
Oh my sweet
sweet dear.

      Thank you.
      I wrote this poem in a deeply emotional time while watching a loved one slip away from cancer. It’s such a bittersweet moment – love, loss and letting go.
