Oh The World

April 21, 2025

Oh the world
is a miserable place
no joy
no saving grace
only heartache, sadness
anything else
I can’t endure
embrace

Then
a robin alights
on my garden gate
living in happiness
in delight
courting, laughing
as robins do
building a nest
making love
in the mists of evening’s dew

All will be
all is
as the creator planned
we’ll live
till
the sun sets on our lives
whether with
happiness
or
crying eyes.
