When I Look Back

When
I look back
I see a life so different
so not
the present me 

My heart
beats 
my eyes see
but
not the way
the way it use to be 

Maybe
I’ve grown
maybe I’ve lived
different lives
from an enfant
to
that young girl
oh so lost, asking why 

Then
I seen my life
my existence
in a frame
of nature’s beauty
full of kindness
and
singing so sweet 

It  became the basis
of
how I live
how
I enjoy and love 

Letting go
of
anger
sadness so bleak
those things lived
back there
in
yesterday 

Those things I now do not seek.
