their melancholy sound

mountains all around
Sending messages, greetings
and words of sadness
so profound

All
is the trouble with
not enough
Figuring
it out, making sure
I know
what I need, what I have
and
that it’s always
just enough.

A home is a home
no matter the width, the size
treasured forever
lived in from birth
to the time you die.
Feel the gentle breathing
of timbers and frame
holding strong
in winter winds, torrential rains.
All are welcomed
with love, no despair
come
step into this home.
There you’ll share
laughs, great food
and
a glass of sweet cheer.

A hummingbird came to my window
today
not seen since
in the fall
when they all
flew away.
Sweet nectar she’s looking for
needs right away
hovering, looking in
she tells me.
Get it ready!
Get it ready!
Get it ready right away!
The little hummingbird
is
hungry
she’s flown such a distance
from far
far away.
Now needs
some sweet substance
til
all the blooms
are
on display.
A hummingbird came to my window
and
told me all this
just this morning
just today.

When I look out to sea
I see you looking
looking back over
just at me
The waves roll in
and
back out again
bringing with them
a message from overseas
a message
you sent just for me
In my thoughts I touch your lips
say words of love
then send them
on the wind
over water, overseas
to you with love
just from me.

Sometimes the truth
hurts
and
not the best thing
to hear.
Sometimes its good
to accept the truth
as it is
as it seems.
Sometimes you can
make the truth
the truth you need
to embrace
and
to believe.

Working is a process
To pass thru life
Feeling accomplished

I’m doing my best
Will there be rewards?
Will there be stress?
I’m sure lots of both
Lots to look back on
Knowing I did all I could

Climbing out
has been hard
rocks, crevasses
unholy shards
pierce my skin, my life
my thoughts
Still I climb
I push, pull and shove

a glorious world
