Rain falls
Pouring down
Wholly drenching parched hard ground
Giving life to what was once brown.
Rain falls
Its pouring down.

I am here and have not seen why
All the answers evade
And I question why.
Heart and soul both
Don’t know the reason
The reason why.
Deep breath, let it rest
Then I may understand and see the answer
To my why, my question why.

When things calm down and all is quiet
The heart stirs with memories, feelings disquiet.
Hard to conceive what has happened
Hard to believe it is now reality.
Chest heaves, tears fall crying
In a crushing rain no one can believe.
Neither can anyone console
Or take this burdened load from you or me.
Yes, when all things are calm and the world seems quiet
The head, the heart are left feeling painfully disquiet.

Patrice’s Art & Poetry Blog
I had a friend
He was six, I was seven
His house or mine
We played dawn to dusk
Swam in the creek
Or rode a pony
Now that was heaven.
I had a friend
He was six, I was seven.

My brother has passed away
Leaving a hole
A void so deep that stays.
No laugh, no hearing his chuckle
No ‘Huh?’ accompanying
His incredulous, questioning smile.
No feeding the brown or the black cat
All memories now
No more, no more of that.
Now my brother, sleep quiet, sleep sweet
Rest now my brother for evermore
In heavenly peace.
~ Pat

Tender mercies envelop me
Hold me still, holding me.
The solace I need
Comforting, showing me.
Suffice to say I feel comforted
Safe, in the arms of mercy.

Feeling down, don’t know why
Heart is cold, feeling nothing
Nothing that can be told
Or reasoned why
Angry most of all at what I don’t recall.
Then there is my head
My mind it’s telling stories full of dread
It saids there is no way things will be right
Just give up, curl up and sleep
Til late tonight.
That’s when my heart beats up
Pounding, ‘Don’t give up!’
I can make it right, deep breath
The rest will come
Before falling of sweet night.
Listen
Hear things dear to your heart
Let your mind wander but don’t let it start
The bad, the sad or that which will taint
The faint of heart.

Picture over Lake Huron sent to Anne-Marie van Santen by one of her page visitors.
Holy smoke, holy crap
We survived all of that.
Pouring torrent of driving rain
Wind hollering thru branches
Blowing here then there no refuge anywhere
Lightning strikes, thunder claps
A storm it is
Holy smoke, holy crap.
Then the rain slows down to a tickle
Leaves stand still, not a ripple
While overhead there is such a roar
Flashing light amidst yellow clouds glowing bright
Otherwise dark as night.
Over not soon enough so frightening to see
We wrap ourselves in blankets warm
Cause hydro off and we can’t deny
A storm came thru wrecked havoc all around
Now is gone, there’s not a sound.
We sit a day or two
In a blaring generator town
Waiting for the lights to come on
And we can once again communicate
With all of you.
Holy smoke, holy crap
We survived all of that.

My heart, my soul know the one
Changing it will not let it be undone
Feel it’s gentle touch like jasmine on the breeze
A sweet smell wafting through the air
Never letting me not be at ease
While
Without a care my soul will pull love up
Changing none as my heart becomes
Becomes that one.

Crusades of magnitude bringing forth attitude
Not seen since the life of you
Brought heart to a tortured world.
Bring it here, bring it near
Then we’ll see who needs
Who cares and who will succeed.
My transient dear show no fear
Show life filled with strife
Maybe struggle and tremendous gratitude.
That’s when you’ll live
When you’ll die and the rest of us
We will surely cry.
~ Patrice
