Falling asleep
staying awake
the same
but
a difference
I can’t contemplate.
Each night
when
I go to bed
I wonder which one
will be swirling round
in
my head.
My body must follow
my feet align
for
whatever happens
it’ll start right there
in
my head.
Falling asleep
or
staring straight ahead.

harmony
basking itself

sunny beauty.

anger
hatred and strife
screaming obscenities
throughout
the long cold, horrid night.
Let me
feel
the gift of love
enveloped
in
beauty, happiness
near
people who care.
Not those who
only seek
to
destroy.
