A hummingbird hovers making sure its safe
To drink nectar that brings forth
A feeling of heaven’s gate.
A hummingbird’s wings sing as she flies
In between blooms sending scent promising
Just about everything.
A hummingbird’s nest of twigs and things
Babies so small
They are next to nearly nothing.
A hummingbird dodges leaves and flowers
On the hunt of insects nutritious there
Amongst other things.
But you know I don’t think
That I’ve ever heard
A hummingbird sing
Anything.

Morning glory surely rides
On the tide of morning rise
Sleep was sound
Resting peacefully all around
Now we raise our presence
To the morning sun
Boldly moving in a direction
That will free us in
The morning glory sun.

Fingers move across the page
Feeling emotions that do rage
Calming down anxious stress
With each word that is expressed.
Yes, fingers make anguish
Dissipate
As they move across
Caressing a waiting page.

Memories, memories
Running thru my head
Memories that I wish would remain dead
Memories, memories come flooding in
Full of heartache and chagrin
Up they come from somewhere
Somewhere profane laughing
Chiding me of what has been
Memories, memories sometimes
Not the best of history that could
Or would have been
Memories, memories that should
Not have been.
Memories, memories wash them away
With happy thoughts of yesterday
Memories, memories.

When the busyness and crazies
Go swirling around my head
When the future and past collide
With something full of only dread.
That’s when
I must hollow out a niche
And cuddle there instead.
Cause no one has
Ever heard of chicken soup
To ease the sop
That fills my head.

Persecution is complex
Rules the master
And doesn’t jest.
Cobble up the past mistakes
Take them to a present place
Rectify and complete
Make them better
But be discreet.
This is what I surely need
To stop that
What brings me here
To my knees.

Tenderness, sweetness
Is all I can think
Til we meet again
Again.
Journeys are bold
Excursions wondrous sure
But nothing will be nothing
Until I see and you hold me.
Then and only then
It will surely be
Tenderness, sweetness
For me.
