Faze the feelings cope and see
Journey harrowing not to be.
Steady, steadfast stand your ground
Bend to no one let them sound
All their misery way back down.
People cope, people be
The best they can
In spite of a misguided destiny.

A butterfly came
To my feeder today
She fluttered and fluttered
Then flew away.
Sweet nectar she searches
And sips with a touch
No matter the flower
Sweetness a must.
A butterfly came
To my feeder today
She fluttered and fluttered
Then flew away.

Buried, buried deep down an abyss
Buried deep beneath all this
How did this happen?
Why to me?
Buried, buried crushing me
Don’t let me be buried
Buried alive
Don’t let this happen
Please lift and pry
Open the heavens
Let me see sky
My heart beats forever
Let it be
As the sun shines through
Don’t leave me buried
Let me survive.
We will not leave you there
We will not desert you
We will not leave you buried
We will stay and rescue
Miracles happen
And a miracle is you
Be patient we’re coming
Coming for you.
~ Patrice
Please say a prayer that those trapped in the mall rubble at Elliot Lake be found
alive and go forth with happy, wonderful lives.

A photo album
Large and small
Depicts the life
We’ve had so far.
Not the heartache
Nor the scorn
Just the pleasures
To be adorned.
No master plan
Is in the works
Just something sweet
All fancied up.
A token of a lovely time
When the sun shone
And you were mine.

Blessed we be
Blessed we’re not
Hold on or you may
Lose that thought.
Brilliant yes
Certainly bold
Smile a lot never frown
The world is here
And it is round.
See the gleam on
A sharp edged sword
Slicing hatred
And spreading love
We’ve been told.
With the Lord
Blessed we be
And certainly not
All alone in
This our sacred lot.

Small and quiet
Liberal and free
I’d like to think
This is me.
Smile a lot
Exercise and be
Part of the world
That likes to be me.
No one can do things
Just like me
So celebrate, rejoice
In being me.

A bear in my chair
Oh what a scare
No one would dare
Tell the bear in my chair
he shouldn’t be there
But guess he can go
About anywhere.
A bear in my chair
It’s creaking and groaning
Under the weight of that bear
That bear in my chair.
Oh I swear
I never would go there
And sit in my chair
With that bear still there.
How and where
Did that bear get there?
To sit in my chair
A bears’ still there
He doesn’t care
It’s my chair.
That nasty old bear
That sits in my chair
How dare that bear
That nasty old bear
Who just sits in my chair!

Your book will be written
Your poems submitted
And your art will soar.
Smile, laugh
This is your time
To roar.
