things
I know you did
but
I didn’t listen.

No I didn’t.

God forbid
that
I listen
learn something new.

God forbid
that
I find
someone like you
who knows
everything
I need to know
and
passes it along.

No strings
attached
nothing to take.

Only
giving
giving with grace.

I don’t know
Open up my heart
Let my soul know.

Don’t go down
The street of hurt and anger
Or God forbid
We don’t know the answer.
