My heart does sing
A song so pretty
Blossoms bloom
Grass grows
And
Birds sing
For the song
Sung
Doesn’t weep
but reaches, holds up with strength
All that’s needed
To keep the earth whole
Skies blue
Stars shining
And
Waters running
For they too
Sing
Such a lovely song
Of grace, beauty
And
Sincere gratitude.

no refrain
so caring, so light
I know

when I hear

in the morning, noon
or

Must be close to spring
For squirrels are making out
On the deck railing.
Must be close to spring
For deer are eating
Sprigs of exposed grass
Instead of bark and things.
Must be close to spring
For redwing blackbirds sing
A lovely song of spring.
Must be close I’m hoping
To that wondrous season
Spring.
