Can I Fix It?

April 26, 2013

Can I fix it?
Will I be the one
That’s the hero
In a situation
That should not be?

Crushed and miserable
Full of doubt
Must move forward
Cast it out.

Smile with gratitude
Mean it
See it radiate
All about.

My strength and smile
Will cast misery out.
Can I fix it?
I have no doubt.

Pleasure, Focus Let It Be

April 25, 2013

Pleasure, focus let it be
The main thing
To bring you
To your destiny.

Happiness is not something
You leave outside
But accompanies you inside
Staying by you thru all
Thats going to be.

Laugh, joke
See the reason
The sun does rise
Leaving behind dark
Brooding skies.

Your choice all this be
Happiness, pleasure
Laugh and see.

I Struggle

April 24, 2013

I struggle with what I know
I struggle with life
A life I don’t know.

I struggle with honour
And a love to keep
Close to my heart.

I struggle never to weep
Or be lost in the depths
Of someone else’s heart.

I struggle here
I struggle there
Not knowing where to start.

Yes, I struggle
I do so struggle
Here within my head and heart.

Pass Thru The Night

April 23, 2013

Pass thru the night
Can I get some sleep
Some more sleep tonight?

1 a.m., 2 a.m.
3 a.m.
And then some snore.Love and Tenderness ~ Painting by Patrice

4 a.m., 5 a.m.
What a chore.

Can or should
I sleep
Some more?

6 a.m., 7 a.m.
There’s not
A chance
I’ll sleep
Not even
Once more.

Pass thru
The night
Hope to sleep
And snore.

We Did Not Go Down And See

April 22, 2013

We did not go down and see
We stayed back and let it be.

Fear did not reign
The focus was on a tremendous time
That had gone and been.

Prosperity and affluence
Brought down poverty with distain
This was our focus.

As you see
When we left behind
All there thats contradictory.

Some other place

Monsters Reign No More

April 20, 2013

Monsters of Boston Marathon ~ photos courtesy of CNN

Monster caught
Without a shot
Only a few hundred
Just before
But then he’d killed
Some more.

Now folks can sleep
And get some rest
A monster kills
No more.

His brother dead
Shot in the head
But not before
Bombs blew again
Once more.

Hid himself
The monster did
Bleeding not running
Anymore.

Police had him
In a trap
Then he slipped away
Once more.

Hid in a boat
David’s boat
Couldn’t sneak away
No more.

Bleeding he’s found
Shots exchanged
Bullets ripped
Throughout the scene
Then a silent theme
Once more.

Police quietly hid
And waited til monster
Could no more.

Kill and maim children
Who hadn’t done a thing
To him
A monster is a monster
No more.

People cheered
And clapped their hands
Celebrating far into night
For the fight is
No more.

Cheering police
Thanking them
For risking life and limb
Bringing in a monster
Who won’t kill again
No more.

Monsters reign no more.

I Drink My Coffee

April 19, 2013

I drink my coffee
I sip my tea
I struggle in the morning
Just to be me.

Then in the afternoon
It all becomes clear
Salvation from questions
I have no answers to
No answers for
Those I hold dear.

As night settles in
And my heart quietly rests
I see I’ve been tested
And survived with the rest.

What Year Is This?

April 18, 2013

What year is this?
Is it the year
Of my freedom, my triumph?
Or just another disaster
I must and will master.

Creeping, crawling through
The sadness, the madness
Striving for some gladness
To dwell here in my heart
When will it start?

When will all this muddy Golden in Trouble ~ art by Patrice
Turmoil leave, depart?
Nothing wrong
Just following along
With the throng.

Yes, nothings wrong
It’s just that
Nothings right
In this year
This year of sadness
I’m living tonight.

Bright Sunlight Streams

April 17, 2013

Aruba contemplating ~ photo by PatriceBright sunlight streams
Across the land
Brining favour and promise
To whomever
Is within her hands.

Profound love gently
caressing our motherland
moving west
Making all
A promised land.
