Monster
Monster deep within
Cold and dark crawling out
Crawling in.
Monster
As he seeps and rages
Destroying all that’s sacred
Denied life pure with love
By a monster.
Monster
Craved this cowardly act
Coming from within
Killing those that should not be
Killed not here or then.
Monster
Monster that’s all you be
Monster
Monster coming out of thee.
Monster
Shame on you
A ugly monster
That’s all
That’s all you be.
~ Patrice
My heart, my prayers, my thoughts go out to those stricken by this horrendous act.

I see a rabbit hopping
Out along the back
All is quiet, except honking
No one could miss that!
Honking geese as they fly
In for their morning feast
They can’t afford to miss that!
Freezing rain has coated
Covered all
While trees hang in silence
Bowing to extremes.
Not one bird ventures out
Other than the geese
I see no one there about.
Waiting, riding out the storm
We all hunker down
And just sit it out.

Thank you Ingrid
For your lovely thanking card.
I found within the fold
Kindness, strength and power
Caressed with courage
So untold.
Love of life
A will to be part of all
You can behold.
Thank you Ingrid
For your lovely
Loving thanking card
That I hold.

Drip, drip of falling rain
Settles deep down the drain.
Is my life like that rain?
Have I flushed myself away?
Can I grasp strands of grace, gratitude
Interspersed with love
Pulling up myself to stay
in a world not only to survive
But live a life
Where I don’t want to die.

Cherished deep within my arms
A love so true and so strong.
Held tightly never to let go
Held near but must let it grow.
Love is dear and that strong
Will survive even if it’s very wrong.
Cherished love does hold the key
To all that’s strong
Deep within my loving arms.

Have I been honest?
Have I been right?
Doesn’t matter it’s working tonight.
Isn’t it funny and mostly alright
Why not wander
To the far side of happy tonight?
