Let Me

September 19, 2017

Sunset ~ Photo by Patrice

Let me lie at your feet

My life in disarray

Let me see you seek

The good in everyday

Let me feel your heart beat

Goodness with every beat

And finally

Let me be part of all

You do and say

All my life

In every way.

Can’t Understand

September 18, 2017

Monty boating ~ Photo by Patrice

Can’t understand
Why the world allows
Sickness
Sadness to have command.

Can’t understand
How we got from here
To a place with no grace
No gentle kind.

 Can’t understand
Can’t understand

Fly Away, Fly Away

September 14, 2017

Lily ~ Photo by Patrice

Fly away, fly away

The day is unfolding
The temperature’s cold
Not smouldering

Fly away, fly away

Come back
Amid spring flowers
For now is the time
Time to fly

Fly away, fly away.

I Understand

September 13, 2017

Winter Orchid ~ Photo by Patrice

I understand
I must be truthful, honest
And
Of course full of courtesy.

My question is…

Does that entitle me
To a blessed life
Or
One that’s just ordinary?

Busy Thinking

September 12, 2017

Bumblebee working ~ Photo by Patrice

Busy thinking of
All the things
That must be done
The minutes needed
Time left over
Is next to none.

Busy thinking how
Can I complete all this
Then remember
In this world
In the scheme of things
All will be done.

Busy thinking
It will be accomplished
When its needed
When I need
Just need
All these things.

A Hummingbird Came

September 8, 2017

Hummingbird and Feeder ~ photo by Patrice

A hummingbird came
To my window yesterday
She pleaded and begged
Me not to put away
That feeder which fills
Her each, everyday.

She needs calories
To fly away
On an epic journey
To warm, hot lands
Far far away.

Maybe tomorrow
She’ll leave
Before the snow flies
And the leaves
Are deceased.

So now, today
She pleads
Fill it up, leave it be
Help her get ready
For her long, long
Epic journey.

Whimsical And Saddened

September 7, 2017

Horse on a path ~ Photo by Patrice

Whimsical and saddened
I feel and touch
The gladdened
The ones left to guide
To show the heart
The way
The trodden path
The journey
On which I need to go
Today.

Smug, Complacent

September 5, 2017

Snake and bone ~ Photo by Patrice

Smug, complacent
Morally wrong
Stepping over
Standing on
Those that helped you
Get where
You don’t belong.

I’m Amazed And Mystified

August 31, 2017

Big Sky ~ Photo by Patrice

I’m amazed and mystified
The way the world turns
And magnifies
All goodness inherent
On the earth
And up in
The clear, blue skies.

I am amazed, I’m mystified.
