A Home Is A Home

September 9, 2016

A home is a home
No matter where you reside
A home is a home
No matter the size.

A home is where we go
And we share
All that’s important
And shows we do care.

A home is a home
And where we come
To be secure surrounded
With all we love.

Be it with our child
Our brothers, our sisters
Our father, our spouse
Or mother
A home is a home.

No matter where
We roam or stay
A home is still home
When we nestle in
And love one another.

A Delicate Flower Blooms

September 7, 2016

Delicate Orchid ~ Photo by Patrice

A delicate flower blooms
Quietly
Seeking no fame or to be
Deemed part of majesty.

She only wants to live
And give delicately to others
Who seek her out
To fulfill their own dreams.

She holds them close
Giving everything
They in return
Help her bear fruit
While breeze dancing.

Replenishing all
She goes full circle
Dying
Growing, spring blooming.

A Bluejay Came Looking

September 6, 2016

Winter Bluejay ~ Photo by Patrice

A bluejay came looking
For a feeder today
Checking
Seeing whether one
Was on display
Silent and quiet
Not a word did he say
Just looking
Looking
To see if a feeder was up
Fast food for the winter
He was looking
Looking
Checking today.

Lost In The Wilderness

August 26, 2016

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Lost in the wilderness
Lost in me.
Striving to find success
Striving to find me.
Seeing constant
Seeing nobody
And nobody is me.

Why have I lost this?
Why is it me?

Feeling a soft caress
Gently caressing me
Softly letting me see
I don’t need to be lost
I only need to be me.

No lost in the wilderness
No silly lost me
Return that soft caress
That sweet kiss, kissing me
Found in the wild wilderness
That’s where I found me.

When I Was Lost

August 24, 2016

Costa Rican Sunrise ~ Photo by Patrice

When I was lost, nowhere to go
She was there
This I know.

Holding still
Sitting quietly next to me
Not on a chair
But a presence
I could feel, I could not see.

Quietly she spoke
Her hand reaching out
Caressing my spirit, my soul
This being called
Me.

She told of things
That would be
She told me I would succeed
She told me, she told me
Everything.

Her voice so calm
Her touch so light
Her presence it could light
The darkest night.

An angel perhaps
A passing soul, who knows
But by my side
She lived, she stayed
She goes.

I’ve Always Had That Gentle Soul

August 19, 2016

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

I’ve always had that Gentle Soul
Guiding me thru tough
Tumultuous times
At my side they’d be
When no one else did care.

That Gentle Soul would reach down
Pick me up, quietly set me
On the proper path
Never asked, always there
To help guide me anywhere.

That Gentle Soul has saved my life
Guided me thru all kinds of strife
I owe so much, I must give back
Kindness to those on their own path.

That Gentle Soul has guided me
Now I must do the same for thee.

Knowing When

Knowing when to go
When to stop
This is the secret to a life
Not filled with wrought.

Danger, Danger

August 17, 2016

Old House Window ~ Photo by Patrice

Danger, danger
Beware
Lurking in the dark
Standing there
Waiting, watching for the time
When the mind
Isn’t paying attention
Isn’t expecting anything
Like this awful crime
Danger, danger
Make it so it isn’t mine.

Telling No One

August 16, 2016

Telling no one
The sights I’ve seen
Good or bad they are now forever
Planted in my scheme of things
No help on the way
No rescue net in place
Moving, marching forward
Telling no one
What I’ve seen.
