Seasons Of Life

October 11, 2017

Fall Flowers ~ Photo by Patrice

I feel the sadness, the dying life
Into hibernation
No movement til the unfrozen
Comes back, springs to life.

Melancholy knowing
The ground will hold still
Covered in snow
And frozen ice.

Through cycles of the land
Eons of living life
The world changes showing
Birth, growing, living, dying
In seasons of life.

Herself

October 10, 2017

View from the top ~ Photo by Patrice

The world has come presenting
Herself.

Showing what she’s made of
No excuses, no glorifying laude
Just the world made of
Herself.

Travelling Down A No Return Road

October 6, 2017

First of Winter Road ~ photo by Patrice

Travelling down a no return road
Going forward pass signs
On this winding, bending road
That tell me what’s ahead
Sometimes full of anticipation
Sometimes only dread.

Going forward
Not looking back
Not using a rearview mirror
To see behind
There’s no use in using that.

On the side of this my road
I’m passing beauty there
Just up to me to behold.

My salvation
May be at the end
Of this my own long road
But the journey to that place
Is up to me to unfold.

I Know

October 4, 2017

Simone's Shepherd ~ Watercolour by Patrice

I know
The world goes round
I know what has been
Comes back around

I know my sorrow and my joy
All come and go
Leaving feelings
Sometimes I don’t want to know

Then again I know
What is now does not last
It comes to past then goes
As all the world does

This I know.

Where I Belong

October 3, 2017

Wire in Landscape ~ Photo by Patrice

All the time I wonder where I belong.

Maybe my soul knows
But it doesn’t say
And I wander along.

My heart filled with sadness
Wishing I knew
Where I do belong.

I Will Survive

October 2, 2017

I will survive
I will breathe and be alive
I will rejoice
I will have a choice in decisions made
I will laugh and cry
I will live then die

But

I will
I will survive.

Heron in the creek ~ photo by Patrice

In my dream
I see fortune full of destiny
Mine to have
Mine to be
Let me begin living
This my dream
In that destiny
I see.

A House, A Home

September 28, 2017

Elaborate Birdhouse ~ Photo by Patrice

In the forest I found
A house, a home
So profound.

No windows to shed light
But a cozy home, a place for respite
Adorned with flowers pink and white
A bell to toll when someone
Strange comes lurking
Late at night.

A front door I can’t find
Yet welcome are all
Who poke their head inside.

May you see this house
So profound
May you enjoy all it has to give
There in the forest
This house, this home
That I found.
