Brilliant disguise
Right in front of my eyes
No fancy dress, no holding up
A tent of darkness .
Just standing there
Looking like a warm, courteous thing
Smile inviting
Beckoning in.
Trusting, I begin to move forward
To be enveloped in
That disguise
That brilliant disguise
That sucked me in.

Making hours from seconds

Stony heartache, desperate longing
Manufacturing life in a realm of belonging
Don’t be deceived, keep your focus
On what is right
Journeying thru the darkness
Well into night.
Born to believe
In the goodness of life
Never deviate from the path
That is absolutely right
Down the trail which holds you
Be it left or right.
Take the way
That in your heart
You know must be
The only one to lead
To the holy altar
Of serendipity.

Sudden clouds
Come crashing down
Throwing thunder, lighting
All around.
Not to rest, no respite
Chaos, fear just surround
Bringing dread
The only feeling to be found.
Over soon
To see the light
Feel the sprinkle washing hope
Throughout the night.
No more quaking
No more fear
Only soothing trickle
Cleansing clear.

Wonder why is the question I need to know
Now, before I die please show

Beauty surrounds, beauty and glory
Making my life a beautiful story
Questions still there, still asking
Wondering, wondering why?
That seems to be the way
That seems to be the making of a life
But can’t help wondering, can’t help saying

Months, maybe a year later I can’t recall, a friend was going thru a difficult time. She was lost, spiralling. I felt she needed something to hang onto, get herself steady, stabilized. See her way out of her troubles.
One morning it came to me… Why not post my affirmations, my poetry on my blog, accompanied by my art and photos? This could be a place where my friend could come daily. Maybe to be inspired to find solutions to her troubles, know she wasn’t alone.
So, that’s how my blog began and why I came to be here.
It is my hope my words, my art and photos will bring pleasure, enjoyment and inspiration to your life.

At the end of the workshop, to say thanks to my fellow journeyers, I made up postcards with a painting and an affirmation of mine on each.
Everyone in the group got their own unique card. One of the facilitators called to say thanks and said too, ‘You should do something with your poetry’.
