Clouds Thunder

July 25, 2016

Lilacs in a Storm ~ Photo by Patrice

Clouds thunder
Rain parts cloudy sky
No sunlight hits a silent ground.

Lighting strikes fear in a heart
Brought to a sudden
Wakening start.

Rain drops on a tin roof
A pinging ring in the midst of a world
Filled with all this thundering sound.

Life and breathe are brought
Given to a earth parched
Thirsting for that thundering, lighting
Rain sound.

Anger Frustration, Darkness And Fear

July 22, 2016

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Anger frustration
Darkness and fear.

They dwell here.

A moment ago
I drove them out
Back they came
Right back here.

Freedom to lose them
Freedom to be happy
Without anger, frustration
Darkness and fear.

No one to blame
No one to fear.

Muster the courage
Step out of the darkness
Step there to the place
We hold dear.

No anger, frustration
Darkness or fear.

I Don’t Know

July 21, 2016

Broken House ~ Photo by Patrice

I don’t know
What the heart doesn’t care
Buried in messed up
I sip from a cracked, broken cup
Tears run
My heart weeps
For the love, the mystery
That wasn’t mine
To keep.

Are You Listening?

July 19, 2016

Mulmur Hills Squirrel ~ Photo by Patrice

Are you listening?
Are you listening or is it me?
Is it me whispering?
Whispering silent messages
Softly on the breeze.

Cannot tell the difference
Cannot tell or sell
The words coming
Coming clear only to me
Are you listening?

Are you listening?
Are you listening alongside me?
Or is it only
Only me?

Sultry Humid, Tired And Dry

July 18, 2016

St. Lucian Beauty ~ Photo by Patrice

Sultry humid, tired and dry
Looking for languid
Solemn I cry
No redemption neither remorse
I stand corrected
Powered with force.

Softly gentle, kindly kind
I trudge onward
In a mindless mind.

No heaven to help me
No devil to care
Follow the angry, uphold the rare
Sight of forgiveness, gasp for air
Holding on
I hope I’m spared.

A Sense Of Well-Being

July 14, 2016

A sense of well-being does not change the world
A sense of well-being changes how I see the world.

When The Rains Fell Down

July 13, 2016

Blooms in a Storm ~ Photo by Patrice

When the rains fell down
The sky was blue
Feeling all the misery
That’s come to you.

Tears of sadness
Heartache blue
Rains fell, not only crying
But to comfort you.

A Butterfly Came To My Feeder Today

July 1, 2016

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

A butterfly came
To my feeder today
She fluttered and fluttered
Then flew away.

Sweet nectar she searches
And sips with a touch
No matter the flower
Sweetness a must.

A butterfly came
To my feeder today
She fluttered and fluttered
Then flew away.

Know The Reason Why

June 30, 2016

Bright Tree - Dark Sky ~ Photo by Patrice

Know the reason why
Don’t believe your soul
Would ever lie.

Accept its truth
Don’t deny your heart
Knows the reason why.

Never Before Did I

June 29, 2016

Birdhouse in a birch tree ~ Photo by Patrice

Never before did I
Feel the work of the Lord
Residing in everything.

Never before did I
Find a way to heal
The hurt felt when I was left
In a terrible bind.

Never before did I
See the magic a heart can do
To mend with love
Given unconditionally.

Never before did I
Be in the realm
Of a beautiful soul
Such as thee.
