Getting old
Is not for the mild or meek
Tough road lies ahead bolstered
From those already dead.
Aches and pains constant
Even if only in your head
Hip replaced, arteries clogged
Fingers arthritic and sometimes
The mind is just a smog.
That’s when you think of yesterday
Fill your heart with thoughts
That only knew life in a form of play.
Getting old
Will or won’t take those times away.

Bright sky glistens in the trees
Flowers reach and bees consume
Nectar rich in sweet, sweet bounty
Gentle smells, sounds relaxing
When breezes carry ease to me
The mighty sun looks down
And sees.

This day, this day is about to be
Whether happiness, heartache it will be
Greet it with joy
Greet it with ecstasy.
For the next day, tomorrow
May never be
You see this may be, the last day
The last day you see.

Sadly, I turn to focus
On the master plan
What have I done?
What will I become?
What do I do to make my life
The one I want too?
Then, that’s when it becomes clear
No, I am not sad
I’m just a little crazy mad.

The clouds are dark
Ominous in the sky
Fortune once foretold
Hovers somewhere
Under clouds of lullabies.
Stepping forth, going to the heart
Of that that matters
Is all I’m worth, all I need
To live the life I’ve seen exist
In a misty, cloudy dream.

Sign and design a time in your life
Where harbours are safe and adventure your goal.
Leave nothing to chance nor try to control
Be your best life and one with your soul.

Still silence stands quietly by
While my heart sings a tender lullaby
Strands of caring gently caress my soul
Now no more alone
My spirit reaches and it soars.

I was in your place, I saw your face
But
You didn’t recognize me.
In another life we laughed and cried
‘Friends for Life’ we said that’s how it would be
But
Now I see you don’t recognize me
I’m just a face in a ordinary place
And you walked right pass me
No ‘Friends for Life’
What a state it has come to be.
Just the other day I was in your place
Saw your face
But
You didn’t recognize me.
