I must be the same
same as you, not me.

Don’t tell me
my beating heart
doesn’t count.

Don’t tell me
my thoughts are just lies.

Don’t tell me
the tears I weep will never
bring back ones lost.

Don’t tell me this
I ask of you
I plead, I cry.
