You Gave Me Life

You gave me life
you gave me
hope
you saw the future
you strove
to make it real
the most 

I saw you do this
I held on
tight
I walked  behind you
I tugged a little
at
your coat 

Now grown
we walk together
now
we’ve seen the fruition
of
all our planning
striving, hope 

The Light 

We’ll smile
that
we made it
we’ll laugh and cry
for
we are together
resting quietly
up
in the blue, blue sky.
