you’re very near
yet I can’t see you
feel you
no way do I know
you’re here.

My lips do cry
my eyes do weep
they fall upon my heart
it moans
I cannot speak.

Do come
near
do let me hear
your soft voice caressing
away
all this sadness
all this fear.

Maybe then
I’ll be okay
maybe
I’ll know for sure
you are close, you are very near
