I feel your heart
Your quiet strength
I walk aside your silent figure
Not alone.
No words spoken
No hand is touched
But there beside me
My father walks.

I wonder, wonder where
The squirrel at the feeder
Came from.
Where the sun was before
It shone in the sky.
When people thought
That they may fly.
What was said when
The mountains fell.
As a earthquake opened up
And shattered the ground.
I wonder, wonder where
The answers can be found.

Coffee taste
Lingers
The aroma whirls
Round my senses
No
Other feeling
Neither
Happiness
Nor
Dread
Can accommodate
Like this
In
My sleepy
Morning head.

The sun breaks
over a brown earth
Left as if dead from winter storms
But then
In the midst of all broke
Deemed dead and dying
Is a small green shoot
Emerging
Bringing life
To a winter weary land.
The warm sun gives life
Nurtures
The rising ones
Spring
Has come
As winter retreats
Only
On a later day
To blast
Blow once again.
The sun then rests
Satisfied
she has done her best
Thou
She too
Will be back
Tomorrow
To nurture, bring life
With a warm, radiating
Spring sun.

In retrospect
I see so clearly
The problems I had
Answers
That evaded me
In retrospect
I could have
Done things
Differently
In retrospect
I know my life
Could have been
Changed drastically
But
In retrospect
Then I would not be
The person I’ve become
I need to be
In retrospect.

The caged bird flies
Deep into brilliant
Blue, blue skies.
The caged bird cries
Songs of lilting love
Her sweet voice sings
Of beauty, freedom
All things.
The caged bird dies
In the midst of bars holding
Holding her in.
No soaring in blue skies
Nor lilting love songs sung
For this was only a dream
Dreamt in
A dark night long.

Hearing the words spoken
In love and respect
Makes my heart leap and regret
All the things that I’ve said.
Not believing the actions
The smiles
The love I did get.
Now
I know there was nothing pretend
All was truthful, out in the open
Love with no end.
I will embrace all that I have
Give back, be happy
Never again be sad.
For this that you’ve given me
I will embrace, love you forever
Knowing
It’s our chosen place.

The world spins
revolves around
taking lives on a journey
the world beyond.
Grass grows, birds fly
rain drops
and sometimes
lovers must say goodbye.
The world is ours
We make it what we can
happy or sad, we live our lives
as the world revolves round
once again.

Hold your horses
Be at peace
Let the world pass by
One hour at a time
No rush
No strong words
Do you speak.

Memories last
to give us space to remember
those gone from this place.
Holding close, holding long
remembering all the snuggles, caresses
Thru the night so long.
Heartache cries missing those loved
now my heart’s alone
a empty place.
I can’t, won’t forget
your loving soul’s a memory
all that I have left.
