Are they true
Or did I just say words
That make the story
Told well?
Secrets revealed
Bad parts left out
Who knows
How can you tell?
Embellished or truthful
Telling a tale
To remember.
Not because
It’s told correctly
But told well.

Dead leaves fall
Blowing
In the breeze
Falling to the grass
Floating
In the stream.
Dead leaves fall
Gathering
On the deck
And
Beneath barren trees.
Dead leaves fall
While children
Laugh
As they frolic in those
Now dead leaves.
That fell
That
Fall.

reach for the best

know that tenderness
will bring joy and happiness
I must
make my world turn
with kindness, not hate
I must
I must seek
search, participate.

in the heart
the head
moving the rest with ease.

Felt your gentle soul
Know your touch is
What I feel
When soft breezes blow.
I don’t need to see you
For I know you’re near
Holding me close forever
Forever, my sweet love
My sweet dear.

nor do they understand
the way to heaven
is always open

it’s there
Always
at their command.

A hummingbird came
he sat
on the stair
his words were luscious
I knew he was there.
The beat of his wings
the flow of his heart
moved me to tears
I bowed down
I cried
I cried a lot.
For no more til spring
will I hear those sounds
as snow falls
baring down
on a land bleak
where
no hummingbird sounds.
Then
the snow will melt
the heavens wake
and
on his journey back
the hummingbird makes.

Holding on to memories
I shared with you
Some good, some bad
We danced in sync
In a dance of life
We had
Just we two.

my life is saved
My heart
also
is picked up
Safe and serene
standing straight up
I feel your presence, I feel your love
And that’s when
I race
to another
who needs me
to
pick them up.
