Nothing to say, not today
No one comes, no one says
Anything relevant or astute
But then
I look outside and see
The world in all it’s beauty
Snow drifting by
Trees standing proud
Birds flying round
That’s when I realize
There’s nothing more to say
It’s already said
I just need to sit back
Enjoy this spectacular scene
This journey, this ride
I’m lost for words
My heart does sigh
It sees all, it seems.

Stolen from my heart
Left to decay
In the midst of rubble
Smashed
Ruined
Just the other day.
Will I get it back?
Will I feel
Love
Another time?
Another day?
My heart doesn’t know
She beats
She hopes
She prays.

Morning doves and evening grosbeaks
Ever wonder why the names they got
What they seek?
And how come blue jays cry?
While chickadees speak
Crows caw?
Truth is, that too
We don’t know why.

Deep within the world’s recesses
Down it’s hidden well.
To be told
Maybe
Sometime, somewhere in the future.

Who knows who
Will be left
That one who will tell.

I met my love
A long time ago
And
Far, far away
On this day
This
Valentine’s Day.
We’ve travelled
Thru life
Together
Living, loving, laughing
Maybe
A little fighting
Whatever
Life brought us
On that particular day.
Looking back
I smile and say
Life has been good
Since
Way back
When I met my love
On
Valentine’s Day.

No way can I know
The why.
The reason is hidden deep
In the blue
Mysterious sky.
There above, there to see
But
Not understand.
What is beyond
The moon, the stars
And
Distant galaxies.

Nor did you want me
Want me back.
I slide into the shadows
Paused in a quiet spot
Before heading away from you
And all, all your self-centred thoughts.
I won’t be back and I think
It’s a well known fact
That you’ll never miss me
You’ll never ever, ask me back.

Seeds are there, then gone
They’re out.
I’m sitting here
Watching, watching
All the goings-on
Go about.
They don’t know
I’m here
They don’t care
About my life, my goings-on.
Cause they have
Their own life to live
Like sing, find seeds
Fly about.

Different

The universe
Galaxies swirling.
Time bends
Somewhere it’s tomorrow
Today
Is gone
It’s already been.
Then there’s
Yesterday
Can we go back
See it happen, happen
All over again?
