We know we don’t know
Know much of anything
We think we do
We’re sure
Absolutely sure we do.
But
The truth is
It’s not much
At all.
If we look to the skies
The ground beneath our feet
Do we know what’s there
Where it lives, forms and dies?
We don’t know
We really

Much of anything.

Thinking of things
That
Could have
Changed my life
Way back
In the midst
Of
Everything.
Not sure
If changing would have been
Better
Or
Maybe worse.
But then
I’ll never know
For
I didn’t do
Those changes
Those thinking of everything
Things.

The essence of the world
All seems so

I wonder why
I ask the question
To the quiet presence
But

Nothing says
The why
Nor can I feel
All is

Ever
Ever as me.
It may be tomorrow

The day after that
I’ll be in heaven
Smiling down
On all this, all that.
Where I’ll be wondering
Why I cared
If no one
was in the same time, place
As me.
Like today
I’ll be wondering
Just wondering all this
And
Of course, all that.

Heaven sees, heaven knows
All the happenings
We need not
Disclose
Our trials, our tribulations
All our triumphs
For
She knows.
Tomorrow
Heaven will know, will see
Cause
She lives
Lives within us all
Inside of you, inside of me.

I know the difference
Between frozen and tropical land
I know light is not dark
And dark is not light.
I know the difference
Between morning and evening light
The difference is obvious
They are not alike.
But the in-between is hazy
Not easy to read
A conundrum for sure
Not darkness nor light
It seems.

Will it be the same
Will we see
All this magnificence
This majesty?

Quietly, silently
I move through thee, the mountains, the meadows
So full of such beauty, majesty.
Tomorrow I’ll be in the midst of a stream
Flowing rapidly
Swimming with creatures silently, quietly.
I will fly in the sky
Where birds live, laugh and die
I will be for a while, one of them.
No one will know
No one will be happier, happier than me
Moving quietly, silently.

A wall of many trees stand
Stand in front of me
There may be a way
Around
Squeezing thru, in-between.
Many trees stand
Protecting me
From what dwells beyond
Unforeseen.
Canopy overtop, shading
Letting only a few rays
Of burning sun thru
To drop.
Taking the impact
Of a lightning strike
Hear the thunder crash
As a mighty tree falls
Out of sight.
Little ones will take its place
Loved
Nurtured by large ones
Standing, guarding, protecting
In this place.
As full circle round
Does nature go
Where many trees stand
Like a wall
All in a row.

a bit of darkness bright.
