The words sit silent
Waiting to take a place
On a page, part of a sentence
A paragraph
Or just fill an empty space.
Never know what they are to be
Where they’re coming from
Placed upon the page
Uttered
From a pulpit
Graced by the shinning sun.
No matter, there they come
No longer waiting
The words have found their purpose
Their place, on a page, a paragraph
A voice
Greeting the morning sun.

Succumb to nothingness
Drop into the abyss
Slender is the chance
I will survive all this.
Tolerance doesn’t know
Where to step in
Or even if
It still exists.
My sadness knows all this
Crying out the name
The name of one
Who can change, change this.

Hummingbird safe on your journey be
Many pleasures I’ve had watching ye
Time has come and I must let it be
Trust your flight south is a safe journey
In the cool fall light you make yourself ready
Ready for that long flight
Flower to flower do you fly
Sharing pollen, drinking til dry
Maybe next summer I’ll see you again
Humming beneath flowering stems
Drinking sweet nectar alongside some bees
Enjoying the warmth and raising a family
Right now though, all I see is a hummingbird
Getting ready for that phenomenal journey
Wishing you safe, wishing you well
Make it there and please, come back as well.
~ Patrice
Note: As I finished writing this poem and rereading it out loud out on our deck, a hummingbird came up so close i could feel the air movement from her wings on the side of my head. She hovered a few seconds then flew away. I have not seen a hummingbird since. Amazing. I like to think she said goodbye too.

When I think of Terry Fox
I think a lot
Of the good he did
He did a lot.
Not thinking of himself
He made it happen
Help for others
He helped a lot.
He ran
Terry Fox ran
He ran for those
Who could not.

Blossoms bloom
And do their thing
Bringing sweetness, beauty, to everything.
Mock pretend blossoms don’t do
Glowing beauty is all you see
All you do.
Blossoms grow
From plants in need
Of rebirthing self and growing seed.
Blossoms give their life for love
Love of kind and those they serve
But never seen nor ever heard.
Blossoms live
They bloom, they die
Giving all they had to give.
Be a blossom, really live.

A dark day, a quiet day
Busy hoping the bad will go away
But still anger fills the land
Don’t understand, don’t understand.
Silent caution undertakes
To make the world a safer place
No blaming you, no blaming me
Just live in wonder, in harmony.
Darkest night is all we fear
Not one another, no foe, no peer
We walk in morning not with dread
Only thoughts of love instead.
~ Patrice

Had a thought
Of someone
Not anyone I know.
Heard songs singing
With words
I didn’t know.
Seen ones I know exist
But for me I know
I do not know.
All very strange for me
Yet comforting to know
They did and do exist.
Alongside me and those
I definitely
Do now know.

Bon Voyage!
On the journey of your life
Climb the mountain
See the other side
Never hesitate, never waiver
Focus on the way
The way you’re going.

Bon Voyage!
While taking thought
Of those you love
Sing a song, a sweet refrain
You’re starting on a journey
For the rest of your life.
And my advice
My advice is
Make sure you do it
You do it your way!
Bon Voyage!
On this glorious day.

With great sadness I learnt of the passing of a great and wonderful man,
Dr. Wayne Dyer.

I didn’t know him. I’ve never met him but my life was changed when I purchased a book written by him,
‘Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life‘
– Living the Wisdom of the Tao.
Each day I read a verse, contemplate the words written and do my best to apply their wisdom.
I had looked forward to one day going to hear him speak. To hear his wisdom, his knowledge, his compassion flow. This now, is not to be. Not to be.
Although he has gone, I know he’s still with us, in an spiritual presence, thru the words in his books, on film and in all the people whose lives he has transformed.
Rest in heavenly peace Dr. Wayne Dyer, you have journeyed this earth well.
Namaste,
~ Patrice

When I hear something bad
My heart is oh so sad
Doesn’t need to be.
The cruel, the vindictive
The unnecessary
Doesn’t need to be.
Doesn’t have to be.
~ Patrice

My condolences to family and friends of Alison Parker and Adam Ward, My heart, my thoughts are with you.
