Wondering, Wondering

October 1, 2014

Wondering, wondering
What tomorrow will bring
Worried, thinking, hoping
Nothing but good things.

Wondering, wondering
What tomorrow and the days after
Have in store.

Wondering, wondering
Still wondering for sure.

Fall Has Come

September 30, 2014

Fall Rain ~ Photo by Patrice

Fall has come, its presence felt
The lane is crowded with leaves that fell
Geese fly through coloured hills
Their honks ringing against clear, blue skys.

While squirrels cache seeds
Nuts and whatever they can fill
Holes hidden hopefully to remember
In the cold winter still.

Sorrow, anticipation crowd my mind
At the last of summer as it falls to winter
In midst of such beauty that sends
Chills to the soul and thrills the mind.

I Lost My Heart

September 29, 2014

Black Swan ~ Photo by Patrice

I Lost My Heart
Somewhere last night
Can’t find it
I’ve looked all night.

It wasn’t in the bed
We slept in last night
Nor on the table where we sat
Holding hands last night.

Maybe on the pathway
We walked just before midnight
No, couldn’t find it
Even thu I looked
All thorough the night.

Then in the morning
In the morning light
I found my heart
Found my heart unbroken
You’d held it in your arms
All through the loving night.

I Saw A Leaf Wave

September 25, 2014

Shattered Tree ~ Photo by Patrice

I saw a leaf wave
In the breeze made
By a hummingbird’s wing.

Then is when I knew
Nothing exists on it’s own
No one, no one’s alone.

One vibration
Can set in motion waves
Creating mountains
Or deep caves.

That’s what I felt
When a hummingbird’s wing
Made a leaf wave.

Why It Happened And Where

September 24, 2014

Why it happened and where
Is not, I suppose
My affair.

Doesn’t stop the questions
Doesn’t make my heart open
Willing to share.

Not my affair
Not mine, not mine
I should not care.

But I do
And I wonder what happened
Even if it’s not
My affair.

Comforting With Pleasure

September 22, 2014

Morning Glories ~ Photo by Patrice

Comforting with pleasure
So I greet the day
Forgotten are the terrors
I saw, heard yesterday.

Sunrise promises a fresh
A new wondrous day
Going forth, travelling down the path
Knowing, it’s all what I make it
On this glorious, new day.

Glorious, Glorious Is All

September 19, 2014

Monkshood ~ Photo by Patrice

Glorious, glorious is all I can say
Some people are wonderful
Some people on this gracious, grand day
Make my life, my year, my month, my week
And most of all, my day.

Understand Your Dreams

September 17, 2014

Understand your dreams
Listen to what they say
Hear what you must do
See what has been, what may come
Know every thought evolves from
Somewhere, something.

You dream
You dream and understand.

Rain, Pouring Rain

September 16, 2014

Spring Rain ~ Photo by Patrice

Rain, pouring rain, cold, colder still
Chills falling, falling down again
Winter’s come, pass the fall
Summer’s gone, we’ve missed it all.

One thing we can do
Is pray for spring, feel the dew
Then summer’s warmth will arrive
Holding us, in her arms once again.

Don’t Know The Reason

September 11, 2014

photo by Justin Lane ~ published at nydailynews.com

Don’t know the reason
Don’t know the why
Still saddened by the outcome
Even if time has so long gone by.

Prayers for those lost
Prayers for those taken
All have paid
Such a unbelievable cost.

Don’t know the reason
Don’t know the why
Saddened by the outcome
All I do is cry, cry.

My thoughts and prayers are with all victims of 9/11.
