Sleeping the rest of yesterday
Looking forward to tomorrow.
Giving no thought to what happens
In today.
Silly way to live
Missing everything that happens
In living life just today.

Suddenly
in the midst of nothing
something emerges
good or bad, sad or mad
blessed with love or just in love
Suddenly
it’s all that I have.

Remember to love
And
Respect thy self.
Let no man, woman or child
Be above the love you show
Yourself.
For if you are lost
To the thoughts of another
You are lost to you.
Hard as it may be
Love with gentleness
Respectfully.

Hard to know, hard to see
everything in focus
and clearly.
Readjust, move to the centre
centre of everything.
There in the midst of greatness
You’ll be part of and it’ll be
all of thee.

Holding up the light
searching all thru the night
seeking happiness
in the darkest places
trying desperately to turn on
even a glimmer of light.
Maybe tomorrow
when the sun shines it’s light
I’ll fine the joy and happiness
I’ve been searching
seeking
all thru this dark, dark night.

Have you?
Have you heard the bird sing?
Have you been alive to that morning song?
Have you known all along
summer’s secret and winter’s call?
Have you?
The answer is not easy
no, not at all
not at all.

No morning goes
No morning sees
The end of day or in-between
Success at living
Bringing life
With the sun’s rising from below
To the now emerging morning
Intro.
Easing into day
Sliding towards night
The morning rises
Bringing promise
Of good things to come
With a glorious morning
Sun.

You haven’t been
Completely honest
With me, you or anybody
Always telling half truths
Bald faced lies
The question is
Why, why?
Nothing gained by your actions
All lost in the aftermath
Of your lies
Your sordid lies,
Lies.
Will I tomorrow see
A new you as you say
The one to tell the truth
Or
Is it just another lie
One of your many, many
Lies.

Come together
feel the pain
let it loose
to gather love
from all surrounding
loving you.
A walk alone
is never needed
hold the hand of those
that seek it
with gentle generosity
and kindness.
Together
you’ll go
to heaven before
around
and beneath us.

Halloween comes creeping
To the door
All withered, stooped asking for
Trick or treat
Maybe something more
Smiling toothless face leering
Into vacant space
Blood dripping onto gruesome cheek
Screeching voices crack the night
Laughing hysterically
No remorse if no treat tonight.
Now fear is my plight
Quickly shove
The treat out the door
Into grasping bags
Til no more
Smiling it seems in pleasant surprise
When in fact I fear I have died
Slam the door
Lock it quick
Make sure there is no trick.
Cut the lights
Curtains drawn
Sit in darken space
Hoping monsters, witches
Will not be back
Nor leave some gruesome trace.
~ Patrice
