I hear the voices call
They echo through the valley
Down the lane and thru
The crowd at the mall.
Not sure just what they’re saying
No clear words call
But their meaning I hear, I feel
With every voice that speaks
Every echoing call.

Let the quiet come in
Let it spread throughout
Your body, your very soul.
Let hurry not come in
Keep it at bay, say no words
That make it run away
With your solitude.
Deep breath in, slowly let it out
Embrace quiet
Feel it spread throughout.

Times are tough, people rough
Struggle to maintain
A sense of normal.
A kind of place where grace
Is the highest trait
That we take and try to make it
Seem so normal.

I must get up
Look to the horizon
Never giving up.
Failure is only a learning step
Nothing happens
That you can’t accept
Learn or forget.

Just looking out
Seeing
An absolutely beautiful, breathtaking day

Sorely saddened by my loss
So very hard to pay this cost
Of living life with those I love
Now gone, I pay the price
For loss of them in this life.
But
I’ll gladly pay that price again
For the years of love
I’ve been given
It’s priceless even though
I know
I’ll be sad down the road.
Saddened by my loss
Is a price I’ll gladly pay
To have had you in my life
Even if for just a day.

When I didn’t know nor find
The thing that occupied my mind
I wandered thus
Took a bus, then a train
In hopes of finding a refrain
That would sing answers
To the questions I wondered
And not be all in vain.

The hearts of men and every woman
Beat, pound a melodic rhythm
Breath taken in, breathing out
Lungs expand and eyes look about
Fingers touch a soft, gentle ground
As feet run full speed all around.
All this done with not a thought
Of how to do it or where it starts
For life begins and only stops
When the end has come
And the heart, it stops.
