the monkey

I must listen
quietly
hear those words
that will bestow
answers

questions asked

hurtful
demeaning

This is my quandary

no matter my apprehension

Where will it end?
Is there
no conscience
no
equality
no line in the sand?
The world awaits your decision
the world hopes your eyes
are
not blinded
by
lies told
again and again.
Hopefully
we’ll stand
together
support one another
as
friends can
When lies
brutality
rise their ugly heads
once more, once again.

a heavy load
A load I think I need to carry.
