Memories are with me
I wish had died
Memories of an existance
I think of and cry
No memories of happiness
Or pleasure survive
Remember memories
That took me out
Of the memories
That just make me sigh
Memories, my memories
That make me cry.

That quiet voice talks
Saying things that give me thought
I listen when that quiet voice talks
Telling me what will happen
Giving choices when that quiet voice begins to talk.
That quiet voice has carried me thru a lot
Showing support, holding me up
I owe that quiet voice oh so much
And will be thankful with all my heart forever
That I have heard that quiet voice talk.

As I sit here facing life
Must decide my mission
The way I choose
To ride the ups and downs
The about face
The turnarounds
No road is straight
No path without a winding curve
Negotiate
Living life on your own terms.

Did you see, do you know?
Tell me, tell me if it is so
See only white, no black in sight
Not sure where all the gray did go.
Did you see, do you know
All the stress, heartache where
Where did it go?
Nothing seems the same
It blossoms, it sings a refrain
Tell me, tell me
Did you see, do you know?

A tear drop
Runs down my cheek
Taking with it all I cherish
All I seek.
A tear wells up
Clouding my eyes
So they can’t see
The pain devouring me.
A tear drops quietly
On lips unable to cry
Any words that fit
These feelings I dispise.
A tear falls
Down my cheek
Landing on my broken heart
Whose pain won’t go away.
A tear flows down
Taking with it all love
All joy
I hoped I’d found.
I feel
A tear running down.

Haven’t told my heart the way the world goes
Haven’t said the words that no one else does know
Won’t even tease the strings
That connect her to my sauntering toes
Nor let her ears, my lips know
Just how the world goes.

Then it happened going far from away
To the depths of happiness
Making my year, my day.
Holding on with joyous gladness
Heading thru the mired deep
Coming out in the other happiness
Feeling pleasure ever so sweet.

Living in the moment
Finding a way to go
To my salvation
A road I don’t know.
Picking a fight
With one who scolds
No remorse
Only things I do know.
See the light
See it shine ever so bright
Follow it
Follow it into redeeming night.

When I think of what has come
What has gone
My heart breaks from holding on
To a life that has already gone
A life that now has succumb to being
Just a shell of that that’s been
No more laughter
No joyous lightly radiating beam.
Sit in silence quietly
Wait for death to take hold of me
Wrap it’s deathly arms enveloping
Taking me to a place with maybe
Some of that old ecstasy
But til then I’ll wait and see
Think of what has come
And what’s to be.
