Danger, danger
Beware
Lurking in the dark
Standing there
Waiting, watching for the time
When the mind
Isn’t paying attention
Isn’t expecting anything
Like this awful crime
Danger, danger
Make it so it isn’t mine.

Telling no one
The sights I’ve seen
Good or bad they are now forever
Planted in my scheme of things
No help on the way
No rescue net in place
Moving, marching forward
Telling no one
What I’ve seen.
~ Patrice

Rain, rain falls
Rain stays washing, watering
All that seeks its life-giving ways
Dripping, dropping from the sky
Soaking, watering all that is so dry
As thanks is raised in arms outstretched
Blessing drops that give life back
To a land parched
Near the throes of death.

I remember when
It was bliss and happiness.
The world was mine
To chose to do
Whatever I choose to do.
No restrictions, no what ifs
Nothing to dim the mix.
Talented, optimistic
That’s what I saw.
I could do it all
Cut thru the impossible
Walk on water
Anything and everything.
Yes, I could do it all.
I smile to see
Those thoughts
That dwelt inside of me.
For life is different now
Than what I did expect.
Not so bad
For I did get
That needed in
Fulfilling my soul
Becoming
What God expects.

A year ago today
My brother passed away
Gone from this earth
His presence we still feel
His form alone
Has passed away.
Wish you were still here
Wish I could hear your laugh
That I could call
But you have gone
Today
A year ago today
You, my brother passed away.
~ Patrice
Rest in peace Terry, my brother forever ❤

Leaves of glory, stems of strife
Planning a world, living a life
Holding happy in a tight embrace
Wondering why
How we couldn’t see pleasure
In all things filled with grace.

Simmering summer
Blowing away
Falling to fall
All in disarray
Maybe tomorrow
Lights will shine
Reflecting heaven
In all that’s
So sublime.

I thank those of you
Who treated me
In my ‘Blond’ time
With respect and dignity.
And for those
Who laughed
And ridiculed
I thank you too.
For you have let me see
There are beautiful people
In this world
And ones filled
With misery.
You have a place
Here in this world
But it is nowhere
Near or part of me.
