Sunset Rests And Meditates

May 1, 2013

Summer Flowers ~ photo by Patrice

Sunset rests and meditates
Sees life in all its states
Smiling sweetly, caressing care
This is needed, we must share.

Love of life not destitute
Living on the edge of gratitude
You are mine and I don’t care
To hold the reins of any old despair.

Travel thru bright, clear day
See the sunset rise
Filling hearts far into
Lovely evening tide.

The End Of Day

April 30, 2013

See The Way ~ photo by Patrice

The end of day
Must make way
For the darkness
Of night.

Must believe
We will be alright
Chartering a course
Thru the blackness
Into board daylight.

We will be alright.

Travel light, focus
And you’ll be arriving
To the morning
Blessed for having
The quiet restfulness
Of a good dark night.

One More Day To Go

April 29, 2013

One more day to go
One more day
And I’ll be away
Far, far away from
All that holds me
To this particular day.

I’ll smile and laugh
Life will just be a gas
It won’t last
But in one more day
It’ll be enough
To make me smile
For one more day.

Yes, one more day
And then I’ll be gone
Far, far away
In one more day.

I Have Gotten Old And Grey

April 28, 2013

I have gotten old and grey
Wrinkles on my face display
Time has passed
And alas, that child
No longer runs and plays.

White hair cascades down my face
Leaving passing time to mark me
Full, I hope with grace
All this happening
With the passing of our time.

Our despair, our joyous care
Prepares us each and everyone
For this time when old and grey
See the life we lived
Full, each and every day.

Sweet Remember

April 27, 2013

Longhaired Kitty ~ Painting by Patrice

Sweet Remember
Just never to forget
Going down the pathway
Far away from regret.

Love it solely
Love to be
Nestled in comfort
With memories of where
I used to be.

Can I Fix It?

April 26, 2013

Downy Woodpecker ~ photo by Patrice

Can I fix it?
Will I be the one
That’s the hero
In a situation
That should not be?

Crushed and miserable
Full of doubt
Must move forward
Cast it out.

Smile with gratitude
Mean it
See it radiate
All about.

My strength and smile
Will cast misery out.
Can I fix it?
I have no doubt.

Pleasure, Focus Let It Be

April 25, 2013

Sailing Ship in Aruba ~ photo by Patrice

Pleasure, focus let it be
The main thing
To bring you
To your destiny.

Happiness is not something
You leave outside
But accompanies you inside
Staying by you thru all
Thats going to be.

Laugh, joke
See the reason
The sun does rise
Leaving behind dark
Brooding skies.

Your choice all this be
Happiness, pleasure
Laugh and see.

I Struggle

April 24, 2013

I struggle with what I know
I struggle with life
A life I don’t know.

I struggle with honour
And a love to keep
Close to my heart.

I struggle never to weep
Or be lost in the depths
Of someone else’s heart.

I struggle here
I struggle there
Not knowing where to start.

Yes, I struggle
I do so struggle
Here within my head and heart.

Pass Thru The Night

April 23, 2013

Pass thru the night
Can I get some sleep
Some more sleep tonight?

1 a.m., 2 a.m.
3 a.m.
And then some snore.Love and Tenderness ~ Painting by Patrice

4 a.m., 5 a.m.
What a chore.

Can or should
I sleep
Some more?

6 a.m., 7 a.m.
There’s not
A chance
I’ll sleep
Not even
Once more.

Pass thru
The night
Hope to sleep
And snore.

We Did Not Go Down And See

April 22, 2013

We did not go down and see
We stayed back and let it be.

Fear did not reign
The focus was on a tremendous time
That had gone and been.

Prosperity and affluence
Brought down poverty with distain
This was our focus.

As you see
When we left behind
All there thats contradictory.
