for
a thousand things.
The people I know
the places I’ve been
the dogs, the cats
horses
I’ve loved
and
who carried me thru
the hard times.
Some of which
I didn’t win.
I love you all.
I’m Grateful
for
those times
when the sun shone
burst forth
giving warmth, love
not only then
but
now
as we need it.
I am Grateful.

Falling Asleep, Staying Awake

Falling asleep
staying awake
the same
but
a difference
I can’t contemplate.
Each night
when
I go to bed
I wonder which one
will be swirling round
in
my head.
My body must follow
my feet align
for
whatever happens
it’ll start right there
in
my head.
Falling asleep
or
staring straight ahead.
