The joy of reliving yesterday
Remembering the journey
That was begun.
No regrets to take with us
Only those already spun.
Mystical powers allowing us
To be changing always
Changing none.
We relive the past
And find the peace
That only yesterday
Could give us some.

Turmoil and transition
Ever binding us to the deep
Never letting us forget
That place where we weep.
Struggle to overcome
Struggle to succeed
It will be worth the fight
Blissful when we seek.
Feel flowing over
All we’ve accomplished
The wondrous magic
Of that lofty peak.

Deadly night giving way
To joy of a dawning new day
Darkness swept away.
Bright, clear light
Soothing frightened spirits
Embracing tattered souls.
Raising up their kind hearts
Holding til they alone can do
Tragic loss gaining something new.
Be kind, be felt
For you in turn
Shall do.

Today I remember
Someone great
Great to me.
Someone
Who gave me life
And is forever
Part of me.
Someone
Who took the time
And began the task
Of making me, me.
Someone
Wise and talented
Knowing when
To be still
And when to be.
Someone
Whose life
Was not often easy
But she accepted
The task
And made it be
What it must be.
That someone
Was my mother
Someone
Always great to me.
I miss you and remember
You’ll always be
Someone great
Great to me.

The first day of spring
cloudy and a dirty white.
Not a great promise of
wonderful things to come
But an expectation
Of making it what you need.
The cold, the snow,
The blowing, howling wind
Over.
Patter of sprinkling rain
Rushing, gushing of rivers
As they race into time.
Green growth pushing thru dark dirt.
This is spring
And it has arrived.

St. Paddy’s Day is today
The day we celebrate with cheer
Good friends, good times and
maybe a few green beer.
Raise a toast, be a host
At a party filled with folks
Pleased to be here at St. Paddy’s Day
The best day of the year.

The end of winter, Please be near. No more blizzards No more watching ‘up to their bellies’ deer. Just the soft trickle of springtime rain As it washes away winter rubbish once again. The chirp of robins hunting worms Green, green grass alongside blooming herbs. Yes, that’s what I am looking for, That’s what I need. So the end of winter, please, please, PLEASE! ~ Patrice © Patrice Clarkson – 2011

Profound innocence, decadent love
Knowing always, a gentle tug
Joyous reunion making me dizzy
Course to be taken, never so easy
But back from the brink
Of coursing this misery
Making it known where there was mystery
Never forgetting that ancient history
Profound innocence, decadent love.

Three years ago tomorrow,
Monty died today.
I Feel the sadness and the pain
Just like it was yesterday.
He stayed with us a little longer
Not for himself, but to help make us stronger,
To be able to accept that final day.
Three years ago tomorrow,
When Monty died today.
To cherish and remember
All that was good and dear.
About Monty,
who three years ago tomorrow
Died today.
The last day of February,
The 29th to be exact
Which tomorrow isn’t there
So, three years ago tomorrow,
Monty died today.

Nothing terrible, nothing vain.
Just a start in understanding
Where and what I’ve been.
