I Remember When

August 12, 2016

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

I remember when
It was bliss and happiness.
The world was mine
To chose to do
Whatever I choose to do.

No restrictions, no what ifs
Nothing to dim the mix.
Talented, optimistic
That’s what I saw.

I could do it all
Cut thru the impossible
Walk on water
Anything and everything.
Yes, I could do it all.

I smile to see
Those thoughts
That dwelt inside of me.
For life is different now
Than what I did expect.

Not so bad
For I did get
That needed in
Fulfilling my soul
Becoming
What God expects.

Dreams Are Forgotten

July 15, 2016

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Dreams are forgotten
Never to be told
Dreams
Never to unfold.

Dreams of splendour
Happiness and fame
All to be seen
Going down the drain.

Sadness, despair
Anguish and heartache
Tear at the soul
Shattered
Fall to the floor
Never, no more.

Up from the tatters
Mended but bruised
Focused on laughter
Making that dream
Come true.

Watch as dreams
Of splendour and happiness
Unfold to be true
This too can be you.

When I Think Of You

June 16, 2016

My Ursa and me ~ Photo by us

When I think of you
I think of me too
I think of joy, happiness
And all things filled
With memories
We made happen we too.

When I think of you
I think of me
Me too.

In The Heart

November 11, 2015

St. Lucia Fishing Boats ~ Photo by Patrice

In the heart of my distress
I find an ark of happiness
Ferrys me to a life
In heaven’s image
No heartache, nor strife
In my dreams I seek, I see
This hallowed place I saw
I seek.

Strive For Happiness

June 24, 2015

Rainforest Flower ~ Photo by Patrice

Strive for happiness
Creating love
Narrow the corridor
That harbours anger
Let it sink deep into murky mud.

Never saw it coming
Never heard the cry
Maybe in the beginning
I didn’t understand
The reason why.

Now that is over and it seems
The clouds have begun to dry
I’ll take my happiness
And make love
The reason why.

Days Move Forward

March 24, 2015

Days move forward
Gone one by one
Packed with something
But neither overrun
With sadness, happiness
Or blissful dreams
Days move forward
Inspite of all these things.

What you see
May be what you dreamed
Or what you saw
In an unhealthy scene
Don’t deny that it has been
For you can only move pass
When you know it’s been
As days move forward
In the scheme of things.

When Happiness Comes

February 3, 2015

Costa Rican sunrise ~ Photo by Patrice

When happiness comes to me again
When flowers bloom and my heart feels
Like its only ten.

Then, then is when joy will leap
My soul will cry
Love is here and none will die.

When happiness comes to me again.

Rancour Hiding Deep Inside

October 8, 2014

Face Study ~ Illustration by Patrice

Rancour hiding deep inside
Struggling, struggling to let it out
Outside away from me
And my distance memory.

Laughter’s good coming up
Throwing out all it can
Including rancour hiding
There inside.

Rejoice because rancour deep inside
Replaced by laughter’s bringing
Joy and happiness
Dwelling too, there inside.

This Day, This Day Is About To Be

August 8, 2014

This day, this day is about to be
Whether happiness, heartache it will be
Greet it with joy
Greet it with ecstasy.

For the next day, tomorrow
May never be
You see this may be, the last day
The last day you see.

For All I Know

July 7, 2014

Hoya Flower ~ Photo by Patrice

For all I know
The world may not be round
It could be full of crowded, crumbly ground
Coming up, breaking down
For all I know.

For all I know
Birds sing to bring joy and happiness
In the chilly, warming spring
For all I know.

For all I know
The squirrel runs, the rabbit plays
Making life an serious, endless game
For all I know.

For all I know
Rain falls to the ground
Spreading life most profound
Asking nothing in return
For all I know.

For all I know
Skin is not skin deep
It lives and breathes
It holds the soul within the body
Until it’s time to go
For all I know. For all I know.
