You haven’t seen
the last of heartbreak or the door

Happiness
Sadness, pain frolic on the path
tripping all attempts at prosperity
with
Happiness
They stand there laughing hard
mocking attempts at joy
and
Happiness
Take a breath, a deep sigh
all this will pass and once again
you’ll bask in the pleasures
of
Exquisite Happiness.

In the heart of my distress
I find an ark of happiness
Ferrys me to a life
In heaven’s image
No heartache, nor strife
In my dreams I seek, I see
This hallowed place I saw

Laden with anger

Strive for happiness
Creating love
Narrow the corridor
That harbours anger
Let it sink deep into murky mud.
Never saw it coming
Never heard the cry
Maybe in the beginning
I didn’t understand
The reason why.
Now that is over and it seems
The clouds have begun to dry
I’ll take my happiness
And make love
The reason why.

Having a hard day
Sleepless last night
Thinking all that angers me
Keeps me up at night.
Not mine to control
Not mine
Yet I struggle
Struggle to let go.
Happiness evades me
Anger, frustration
He said
She did.
Why can’t they see
They’re not right
And I’m in the wrong place
Not where I want to be.

The morning doesn’t run away
It stands and looks ahead
To what will come to be
On this now, breaking day.
No regrets should start the way
no ‘what if’ nor nothing negative
Be brought to this new day.
Only anticipation, happiness
With excitement on the face
That stands, looks forward
To this one bright, perfect day.

Nothing left to chance

Delve deep within it
Try to see the why
Know nothing will come of it

Heartache
Does not survive
In a world that is alive
No remorse
Can run its course
If we not let it be.
Sadness
Has no class
Thus
We shouldn’t strive
To have it in our lives.
Happiness
Now that’s something to keep
And dwell within
Then we’ll be in heaven’s presence
Eternally.

I wrote this 4 years ago but believe it still applies today.
Something to strive for, to accomplish.
Once more I write 2013. Still strange and scary in some way.
Gone, lost, done is the 2012 year.
Whatever I had wanted to accomplish in that year
I did – or – I didn’t.
It has ended now and I can’t change one bit of it.
Regrets? Yes.
Devastating? Most certainly.
Truly heart-warming? Yes, and much more.
Now I must move on, make this new year the best that I can.
Will I have setbacks and heartache?
Most likely.
But I know I will also have experiences that will take me to the top.
Joy, happiness, success and most of all, love.
This I know because I will make it so.
This is my plan. My resolution for this new year.
Come join me, make it your best year yet. Filled with happiness, love and those wonderful experiences that will carry you thru any dark days that do occur.
