Come crashing down
Pounding land
I heard the sound.
No one moved
No one gasped a breath
A sound.
When I heard the earth

A bluejay came
Looking for seeds today.
Then as I watched him fly away
I’m sure I heard, heard him say
“Do hurry and get them
Please don’t delay!”
I heard him
