Left to decay
In the midst of rubble
Smashed

Morning doves and evening grosbeaks
Ever wonder why the names they got
What they seek?
And how come blue jays cry?
While chickadees speak
Crows caw?
Truth is, that too
We don’t know why.

I met my love
A long time ago

Valentine’s Day.
We’ve travelled
Thru life
Together
Living, loving, laughing
Maybe
A little fighting
Whatever
Life brought us
On that particular day.

I smile and say
Life has been good
Since
Way back

The why.
The reason is hidden deep
In the blue
Mysterious sky.
There above, there to see
But
Not understand.
What is beyond
The moon, the stars
And
Distant galaxies.

I slide into the shadows
Paused in a quiet spot
Before heading away from you
And all, all your self-centred thoughts.

Changing attitudes

Seeing opinions change
From what we knew
