Hold Me Close

October 17, 2022
Hold Me Close ~ Photo by Patrice

Hold me close, hold me tight
help me understand
the goings on that happened
have changed
my life.

Let no word be spoken
in anger nor strife
let love begin to heal
the hurt, the pain in this
my only life.

Holding On To Something Right

October 14, 2022

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Holding on to something right
Moving forward thru darkness
Into light.

Striving to be the best I can
All of this
While living life on my terms
As I am.

The Sun Shines Bright

October 13, 2022
The Sun Shines Bright ~ Photo by Patrice

The sun shines bright
Radiating, glowing
with
all it’s might.

Let me not
be standing in the shadows
not feeling
its’ love, warmth, beauty
and
delight.

No One Sees

October 12, 2022
No One Sees ~ Illustration by Patrice for B.C. Central Credit Union

No one sees
what
I need to see.

No one cares
if it’s good
or
just a necessity.

It’s left for me to decide
live with it
or cast all aside.

I Can

October 11, 2022
I Can ~ Photo by Patrice

I can see
but
can I understand?

The way the world turns
upside down
then
back up again?

Can I stand, stand straight
as it spins
never moving
from where I stand?

I can
oh yes, yes I can.

Holding Out, Holding Close

October 6, 2022
Holding Out, Holding Close ~ Photo by Patrice

Holding out, holding close
Thoughts of yesteryear

Knowing they arrived
Played out
And
Now have disappeared.

Reasons why, reasons known
I can’t decipher
I can’t cry out

All I know
they happened
They’re with me now

Till I leave this earth, till I too
Am no longer here.

I Remember

October 5, 2022
I Remember ~ Photo by Mom and Dad

I remember
when my heart was full
my eyes didn’t cry
my soul
my soul could go
anywhere and never die

I remember
I remember then.

Wonders

October 4, 2022
Wonders ~ Photo by Patrice

You have been
I’ve seen
Wonders beyond belief

Life does give us
Such wondrous things

All we have to do
Is look, see and love
These lovely things.

The Light

October 3, 2022
The Light ~ Photo by Brent

There before me stands
the light

The one that’ll be
my guiding light
to a world
I know exists

Where I’ll be
oblivious to heartache
melancholy thoughts
and pain.

Plus, other things
I can’t explain.

See me drench
myself in this light
Feel its warmth, beauty
and
unsurpassed delight.

My Heart Aches

Dead Turtle in Costa Rica ~ Photo by Patrice

My heart aches for the life
That could have been
The life cut short for no reason
Other than seemed a good thing
To do in the universal scheme.

My heart aches, my eyes bleed
Nothing is fair that I perceive
Maybe tomorrow sense will breathe
Understanding into all of this
Catastrophe.
