My heart is heavy, my soul cold
Wherever I wander
I know
The sky will be there
The earth a treasure trove
Of experiences
I will live, I will know
Together
They will pull me out
Out of this deep hole
My heart will lighten
My soul no longer be
A deathly cold.

My heart is heavy
She feels so old
So many stories
How many more
To be told?
She ticks and beats
She has survived
She seen joys
She has cried.
Blood fills
Pulses to
My mind, hands, feet
And back thru.
How many more thumps
Does she have
Not mine to know
Just glad I have her
I have
My beating heart.
