Found The Reason

June 11, 2019

Poppies Red ~ Photo by Patrice

I haven’t found the reason
Why I cry
I cry
Nothing seems to stop it
Hold it back
My world is lovely
Yet I always come back
To that.

Maybe in the past
Somewhere
In a life I lived
A life that didn’t last
I’ll find the reason
The reason will be answered
At last
Oh Lord at last.

Swirling, Whirling Round

June 10, 2019

Lilacs in a Storm ~ Photo by Patrice

Swirling, whirling round
What is right, what is wrong?

My heart doesn’t know
My mind denies
My breath gasps in
My soul cries.

I wander
Taking in, looking out
Screaming
What is this all about?

The Way

Bright Light ~ Photo by Brent

When someone is calling and can’t see their way

When hunger and anger evolve in a horrible way

When birds fly south in a most mysterious way

When storm clouds fold, pummeling all in their way

Is

When the earth shows, she knows

The way.

I Have A Lot To Do

June 6, 2019

Butterfly ~ Photo by Patrice

I have a lot to do
The world, the universe
Moves not waiting
For the time that works
Just for me.

Not entirely

Move in sync
Dance in rhyme
Be the good
Commit no crime.

This will place me
In a space, a time
Where all I have to do
Is be me
And loving mine.

How Did You Know

June 5, 2019

Cardinal Wondering ~ Photo by Patrice

How did you know the things
The things that you told
How did you know?

Did someone tell you
Did you hear a voice
Screaming in such a way
You had no choice
Do you know?

Did you feel the feelings
That expressed the words
Even you didn’t know
How do you know
Do you know?

Don’t Understand

June 4, 2019

Pile of Wood ~ Photo by Patrice

Can’t figure out
Don’t understand
My place in the universe
Who’s here to tell me
Who will direct my path
Just where do I stand?

Answers don’t come easily
No matter how many times
I ask
Don’t understand.

I Know The Difference

June 3, 2019

Martin River Morning ~ Photo by Patrice

I know the difference
Between frozen and tropical land
I know light is not dark
And dark is not light.

I know the difference
Between morning and evening light
The difference is obvious
They are not alike.

But the in-between is hazy
Not easy to read
A conundrum for sure
Not darkness nor light
It seems.

I Don’t Hear Your Story Now

May 28, 2019

Blooms in a Storm ~ Photo by Patrice

I don’t hear your story now
All is oblivious somehow
Rain has poured the storyline away
Gone for tomorrow
Not to exist yesterday.

A thought comes to mind

If I think of it now
And it exists in the present
Must have been lived yesterday
And will go forward to tomorrow
Being lived all the way.

My Bleeding Heart

May 27, 2019

Bleeding Hearts ~ Photo by Patrice

The trouble with my heart
It bleeds, bleeds love
It has from the start.

 You can’t tell me
Your heart has never felt
My bleeding heart.

I Journey To My Home

May 24, 2019

Teddy at the farm ~ Photo by Patrice

I journey to my home
The place where I was born.

Memories past, life I did before
Some heartache, some laughing then and now.

I journey to the place
I was born, I journey home.
