Must Be Close To Spring

March 31, 2014

Winter Flower ~ Photo by Patrice

Must be close to spring
For squirrels are making out
On the deck railing.

Must be close to spring
For deer are eating
Sprigs of exposed grass
Instead of bark and things.

Must be close to spring
For redwing blackbirds sing
A lovely song of spring.

Must be close I’m hoping
To that wondrous season
Spring.

Deep In Your Soul

March 28, 2014

Deep in your soul
Deep in your heart
A thought stirs
Reaching up.

Change the world
Change what you receive
Change what you’ve got.

No heart weeps alone
No mind holds just one thought
Seek the friend that you had
Be alright with the differences
You’ve got.

Miracles don’t just happen
Or are tragedies sought
Do the best you can
Cause your heart and soul
Are all you’ve got.

Today Is A Sad Day For Me

March 27, 2014

Today is a sad day for me
Today was the day I knew in my heart
My mom was dying.

Nothing, nothing I could do
Or say would stop it
This I knew in my heart
But not my head.

Anguish, fear, frightened
Looking for the answer
That would save her
Keep her here with me
Sadly, not to be.

Not once did I think
That maybe she had had enough
And wished to go
Oh no.

When I look back on this day
I see it was all about me
My feelings, my hurt
My need to have her here with me.

I said Goodbye that day
While deep inside, my heart knew
My head refused
Believing we’d have more, more happy days.

That inner voice, my heart
It knew
It knows the future and has lived the past.

She passed
She passed the next day
My mom, she passed away.

Pour My Heart Out

March 26, 2014

Lilacs in a Storm ~ Photo by Patrice

Pour my heart out
Pour it out like there will never
Be an end.

Let it out
Let it be full of nothing
But the love I feel for you.

Pouring out
Filling up the world
To all ends.

It Snows And Snows

March 25, 2014

Snow Banks ~ Photo by Patrice

It snows and snows
And
Then it snows some more.

Cold winter hangs on
No spring song
All I hear is
That wretched snowing song
As it snows and blows
Dumping more crappy snow
On what seems like forever, ever
Evermore. ~ Patrice

You Flew Off Into The Cold Dark Sky

March 24, 2014

Malaysia missing flight ~ Photo courtesy thestar.com

You flew off into the cold dark sky
Never again touching your homeland
You’ve gone
Disappearing into that bleak sky
Why? Why?

You flew off into the cold dark sky
Never ever to talk, see family again
Did you sink beneath the sea?
Or arrive at a unknown destination?
Why? Why?

You flew off into the cold dark sky
Disappearing into the far horizon
Why? Why?

My condolences, prayers and thoughts to all who have lost loved ones on this tragic, heartbreaking flight.

I Wonder What Would Happen

March 21, 2014

I wonder what would happen
If my heart was not whole
But fractured in many pieces
Full of anguish holes.

Would I cry?
I wonder would I die?
Would I be no more?
Can’t help but wonder
Some more.

Or would I mend that heartache
Filling the anguish with love instead
That’s what I would do
I don’t need to wonder or dread.

Now I do wonder
What would become of you?
Would you believe
And come down this happy road
Accompanying me?

Let There Be An Angel

March 20, 2014

Let there be an angel, heaven and eternity
Let it all come together
In the midst of living life with certainty
That all is well
When you have an angel, heaven and eternity.

Sometimes I Let It Go

March 19, 2014

Marten River ~ photo by Patrice

Sometimes I let it go
Sometimes I don’t give it a second thought.

Sometimes I wonder what happened?
What changed your mind and erased your loving heart?

Once I was all you knew
No one else you gave a second thought.

Now indifference clouds the view
Sarcasm is the voice heard a lot
No more gentle caress, no more loving thoughts.

Didn’t happen over night
It seeped in thru empty, shallow thoughts
Taking a awful tole on our gentle, loving hearts.

Sometime turn around look back down your path
See me standing all alone, looking back.

Loving as much as I did then
In the gentle, loving days
Before the empty, shallow thoughts.

Gentle Kindness

March 18, 2014

Morning Glory Fall ~ photo by Patrice

Gentle kindness
Softly touching you
Caressing, soothing wounds
So deep
And pushing wrongs
The other way.

No regret nor remorse
None have come to play
Just loving thoughts
Holding you
In a place of kindness
Each and everyday.
