No Crows Come To Call

April 2, 2020

Flying Crows

No crows come to call
Stay hidden from it all
Silent in the day
Letting time pass
Away.

Maybe tomorrow
The sun will shine bright
All will come out
Rejoicing in the broad
Board sunlight.

Looking Back At Last, At Last

April 1, 2020

Caitlyn at Marten River ~ Photo by Patrice

Looking back
You just gotta laugh
Things you thought tragic
Made life better
Later on
At last, at last.

Giving choices
Crossing bridges
Making decisions
That made you live
Live and love
At last, at last.

Looking back now
You smile
You know
You just gotta laugh
At last, at last.

Coffee Taste Lingers

March 31, 2020

Coffee taste
Lingers
The aroma whirls
Round my senses
No
Other feeling
Neither
Happiness
Nor
Dread
Can accommodate
Like this
In
My sleepy
Morning head.

In Retrospect

March 30, 2020

Last used March 30/20

In retrospect

I see so clearly
The problems I had
Answers
That evaded me

In retrospect

I could have
Done things
Differently

In retrospect

I know my life
Could have been
Changed drastically

But

In retrospect

Then I would not be
The person I’ve become
I need to be

In retrospect.

Love Is Never Lost

March 27, 2020

Love is never lost
Only left behind or put in a place
Where it can’t grow.

Sow love seeds so dear
Nurture, care
Watch love grow.

No needy nor neglect
Let love grow in your heart
Don’t let it be, ever lost.

For this you’ll know
As you watch it grow
Love can never, ever be lost.

The Sun

March 26, 2020

Spring Shoots ~ Photo by Patrice

The sun breaks
over a brown earth
Left as if dead from winter storms
But then
In the midst of all broke
Deemed dead and dying
Is a small green shoot
Emerging
Bringing life
To a winter weary land.

The warm sun gives life
Nurtures
The rising ones
Spring
Has come
As winter retreats
Only
On a later day
To blast
Blow once again.

The sun then rests
Satisfied
she has done her best
Thou
She too
Will be back
Tomorrow
To nurture, bring life
With a warm, radiating
Spring sun.

Terror Holds My Heart

March 25, 2020

Soulful Tree at Eugina Falls ~ Photo by Patrice

Terror
holds my heart
Still waiting
for the worst
To subside.

And my mind
Knows
The world
Of innocence
Will not grow
It’ll hide.

Only fear
Anger
Uncontrolled
Hate
Coupled with
Mistrust
If
we’re not careful
These
Will dominate.

My terror shows
I can not hide
These feelings
I feel
I describe.

Knowing All

March 24, 2020

Classic Car ~ Illustration by Patrice for B.C. Central Credit Union

Knowing all
Does not help
To know
The best.

Knowing less
Leaves you open
To seek, question
All the rest.

Some Days

March 23, 2020

Ceile's Torn Teddy Bear ~ Photo by Patrice

Some days are not OK days.

Some days
Carry the burden
Of yesterday.

Some days
Your heart weeps
Your lips pale.

Some days
It’s best to think of
Another day.

Some days

Now

Great Danes from Purina's Hall of Fame ~ Watercolour by Patrice

Wandering now
Where I’ve never been

Seeking now
Things I’ve won’t begin

Leaving now
Thoughts I shouldn’t have held so tight

Gone now
From the darkest night

Flowing now
On a path not so straight

Holding now
Promise as I go to the light.
