When The Sorcerer Comes To Town

When the sorcerer comes to town

The earth will stop and rotate back around
No friendly comment can expose
A sneaky agenda found beneath the folds
Then and only then will laughter stop a train
Heartache be nothing and nothing to blame

When the sorcerer comes to town

Will you be here or over there?
Will I stand tall or fade to fair?
Will trees bend dropping leaves
Upon the ground
Or reach up scratching heaven’s sky?
Don’t know but I will tell you why

When the sorcerer comes to town.

I Fear My Heart Will Sink

October 24, 2019

Face in the Fence ~ Photo by Patrice

I fear my heart will sink
Deep beneath all those things
That
Run my world
Bringing morning sun
And everything.

Then
Will I still be able
To laugh, cry and see
Moon beams streaming
Love
Filled with ecstasy?

When I Hear Your Heart

Dobie pup ~ Drawing by Patrice

When I hear your heart
Go
Tic toc, tic toc

I’ll send you love
I’ll forget you not.

Terrible Are The Times

October 22, 2019

Silhouette in a Tree ~ Photo by Patrice

Terrible are the times
Foresaken
In front of me
Married to the anguish
Instilled, harboured
Within my history.

When it is vanquished
Laid to rest
Then and only then
Will living really begin
And loving be
The best.

Again, Again

October 21, 2019

Old Car ~ Photo by Patrice

Not sure how
But
Do know when
I understood
That
The end begins
Again, again.

Hidden Deep

October 17, 2019

Silent Reflections ~ Photo by Patrice

Hidden deep inside my life
Is the secret to all
I need to prosper, to survive.

Still and silent I will wait
For the answers coming
Holding all before me.

Catch them
See them
Before they dissipate.

Melancholy

October 16, 2019

Melancholy ~ Photo by Patrice

Melancholy raining, dripping down
No obvious reason can be found
Spreading cross the quiet landscape
Resting briefly on a innocent face
Then running down
On tears of those lost, wandering round.

Maybe someday a bright sun will shine
Dark, foreboding clouds pass
Dissipate and show guiding lights
Til then only melancholy
Can be found
Reigning so profound.

My Fortune Is In My Hands

October 15, 2019

My Dedicated Running Partner - Photo by Patrice

My Fortune I suppose
Is in my hands
The coming and going
Of goodness, happiness
Is in my command.

No soaked coat
Laden with anger
Can cover me
Or make my way
A forsaken land.

I will, I can
See my fortune ahead
Waiting
Waiting to take my hand.

The Words

October 11, 2019

Ancient Mexico ~ Photo by Patrice

The words sit silent
Waiting to take a place
On a page, part of a sentence
A paragraph
Or just fill an empty space.

Never know what they are to be
Where they’re coming from
Placed upon the page
Uttered
From a pulpit
Graced by the shinning sun.

No matter, there they come
No longer waiting
The words have found their purpose
Their place, on a page, a paragraph
A voice
Greeting the morning sun.

I Don’t Want To Be You

October 10, 2019

Dave's Boat in North Bay ~ Photo by Patrice

I don’t want to be you
I want
Want to be me
Allowing nothing to stand in the way
Whether the path be straight or crooked
It doesn’t matter
It’s the way I’ll travel on my journey
To be just me

Today.
