I was in your place, I saw your face

You didn’t recognize me.
In another life we laughed and cried
‘Friends for Life’ we said that’s how it would be
But
Now I see you don’t recognize me
I’m just a face in a ordinary place
And you walked right pass me
No ‘Friends for Life’
What a state it has come to be.
Just the other day I was in your place
Saw your face
But
You didn’t recognize me.

In a time gone by
We laughed, we cried
We joined hands to understand
The way life goes
No tears were lost
No embrace ignored
We lived it all
Life itself was our reward,

Feel the rays of sunshine bright
Beaming down from morning to night
Their passing is silent
Searing hot, radiating light
From millions of miles away
In a landscape both hot, tumultuous
And blazing bright, the sun comes
Bringing nutritious, living life.

Peace and quiet move my soul
Let it function, let it roll
Onto pathways clear and pure
Not filled with tangled webs
Nor harrowing fear.
My feet they move my soul
Directed by time spent
In reverence of all things, all times
Understanding my quiet is
Peace of mind.

At times there are things
You want to say
But the words won’t come
They are vacant far, far away.
How to bring them
To your lips
How to express feelings
Deep, deep in your stomach pit.
In your stomach
They seem to hide
Fermenting, fermenting sick
There they seem sit.

The reaction isn’t scheduled
But its swift
No farther assistance is taken
No follow up exists.
The universe knows the answer
Knows the procedure
That makes living
Nothing less than bliss.
So sigh a deep breath
For all is coming
Coming to give you
A loving and lasting kiss.

As you move forward into eternity
Stop and look around
See majesty.
See forests, lawns, parks and lakes
See people, fawns and a most interesting place
Nothings ever dull if you but care to trace
The movement of the world
For it’s such a wondrous place.
Please move thru this time in space
With a light and tender thread
So they’ll only know you’ve been here
By all the good they felt
From your kind and gentle tread.

I have been feeling
Not so great
Everything matters
But not at stake.
The life I live
Must be honoured
No too hard
Nor can’t be done.
Understand I can
And
Will overcome.
